Texas Trail Endurance Run, Escape from Huntsville
Texas Run: 50K and 20K. Run or walk in beautiful Huntsville State Park. Packet pick up on December 2 at Huntsville State Park from 5-8 pm. Packet pick up race day is from 6-7 am. 50K start time is 7:30 am; 20K starts at 8 am. Please note: 10 hour time limit for the 50K. Cost: Early registration 50K $60, late registration as of November 25, 50K $80. Early registration 20K $40, late registration as of November 25 $60.
All participants will have to be on their last lap by 1 pm (5:30 hours) in order to continue officially in the race. That will give all participants a chance to finish before dark.
4 aid stations will provide food and drinks. You may need to travel as far as 4 miles between stations. Plan accordingly. Bring bottles and necessary gear. Weather looks good one week out. Forecast is to be cold/cool. But I do not trust Texas weather. Be prepared for anything. Including rain, snow, or a hot day. We had all of those in years past.
We will mark the course with flags (color to be announced at PPU)
All participants will be chip timed. Chip will be attached to your race bib. Must be worn on chest.
Awards (hoodies and medals for 50K and medals for 20K) will be given as participants finish the race. Make sure not to leave finish area without them.
It will be appreciated to leave the park cleaner than we find it. Please, deposit all trash at the aid stations. Any dumping will not be tolerated. Also, there will be a “porta-restroom” facilities at each aid station.
