Hotels located near intersection of FR 1374 & IH-45
There are several hotels located at or near the intersection of Farm Road (FR) 1374 and IH-45. These hotels are: Country Inns; Gateway; Super 8; Comfort Inn; and America’s Best Value Inns & Suites. Discounted rates have only been established with America’s Best Value Inns & Suites since that is where the Race Organizers will be staying.
Packet Pick Up: Early & Race Day
We will be having early packet pick-up on Friday evening from 1730 to 2030 at Margarita’s Restaurant. If you cannot pick up your packet on Friday, there will be packet pick up on race day starting at 0600 at or near the race start/finish area.
Race Day registration will be $85 for the 50k and $65 for the 12.5 mile loop.
Pre-Race Meal on Friday, 10 December 2010
The pre-race meal will be located at Margarita’s Restaurant during the same time as the packet pickup. We have contracted for a very nice meal consisting of plenty of complex carbohydrates in addition to some protein. Packet pickup begins at 5:30 PM with the meals available starting at 6:00 PM. From Houston, Margarita’s is located off of Exit 114 @ 631 IH-45 South. From northbound IH-45, use the exit for FR 1345. (Note: There is construction on the access roads on the north bound side of I-45.) Take a left at the stop light, go straight through the next stop light and take a right on Elks Road. This will lead to the rear entrance for Margarita’s Restaurant. For those that did NOT purchase tickets for this meal, tickets for the meals will still be available on Friday.
Awards
50k Finishers will get a beautiful hoodie. Your going to love them, because you will be too tired to argue. No they are very nice. Winners will get a little something extra. 12.5 mile runners will get awards in their categories in ten year increments. If I tell you now what you are going to get, it will take the fun out of it. You will get a Texas Trail Run tshirt and some other cool gifts that will be given out to the selected winners. Get your friends to sign up. Looks like Houston is beating everyone on the number of entries. We will announce the numbers from each city race day.
